In my role as Director of the Planning and Buildings Department at the City of Brandon, I oversee policy development and implementation within the Community. This includes policy development for how we move within our community at the City and area specific scales. The City of Brandon is currently working on our community plan where our residents have identified the need for our community to continue to shift toward being less vehicle centric as we encourage other modes of movement, including walking and cycling. In my role, I am directly responsible for final policy recommendations to Brandon Council within the City Plan along with coordinating with other City departments and our community on implementation initiatives. These implementation initiatives include engineering standards for active transportation and the transportation master plan, which will identify capital budget priorities to support active transportation improvements.
