This project has has received $68,065 from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research through the Healthy Cities Research Initiative.
The Healthy Cities Research Initiative is led by the Institute of Population and Public Health in collaboration with the Institute of Aging, Institute of Gender and Health, Institute of Health Services and Policy Research, Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health, Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis, and Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes. The Healthy Cities Research Initiative is designed to deepen Canada’s scientific leadership in planning, designing and building healthy cities.

The “Smaller Cities” project in Brandon is one of four similar projects that have been funded across the country, and the Brandon team is liaising with teams in Guelph, Oshawa, and Saskatoon to share strategies and solutions.
